The Left in the European Parliament denounces attempts to exploit problems in Cuba exacerbated by the blockade imposed by the US and the difficult Covid-19 health situation.

Reiterating the need to respect international law and the sovereignty of the country, The Left condemns destabilisation and intervention attempts against Cuba, and restates that the blockade forced on the island for over 60 years has prevented access to crucial health supplies and other essential resources. 

We look forward to a fair and just response by the Cuban government to demands raised by protestors in recent days.

Note: MEPs will join a demonstration against the blockade & interventionism this Thursday 15/07/21 at 17h30 at Gare Centrale in Brussels.
